Yes, there are some marked differences but there can be some very nice Maranao barongs (as this thread clearly shows).
The feel is a bit different but my Maranao barong is one of favorite cutting...

Lovely Maranao barong. Did you purchase it? I have seen pictures of this one. Far nicer than most Maranao pieces, there aren't that many.

Regarding wood glue or elmers glue, does anyone know if they hold up well for acutual use? I typically like to do cutting with those items I have that are stable enough.

Recently picked up this neglected dress Gunong. Took a chance based on the poor auction photos and was pleased with what arrived.
