it's quite a fascinating phenomenon that some keris can stand on the pointed end whereas the centre of gravity is logically quite far up at the hilt I'd guess.

Any scientific explanation for this...

just received this mandau today and massively disappointed. It's tiny and certainly NOT a real mandau for use. better suited to cut onions than heads !!! Could've been a mandau model for souvenir/...

Thank you all for the explanation and I do agree about the blade which is flat on both sides and not the typical convex/concave blade of the classic mandaus which I also have in my small collection....
