as already noted, this is 20th century syrian tourist/souvenir dagger. it is not silver inlaid, it is overlay i.e. coftgari technique, which was/is made in Syria as well.

Martin, I do not see/think it has any particular pattern, although I see one weak streak, but hard to tell. extensive pitting and mechanical cleaning do weaken the pattern and make it harder to etch.

This is one way to tell. Another is to NOT to look at the hilt, and look at the blade alone as the hilt and/or cross can be old. but seeing closeups will certainly help.
