I must agree with you Jens, this looks more like dancing and stage fighting swordplay rather than fighting techniques, pretty much like the Syrian "hakam" sword dancing we saw a long time ago on SFI.

Thulfiqars were copied by many smiths, Sudanese, Indian, Persian and a few Turkish ones too. Personally, I do not like them, they're fantasy.

The stars could be the maker's symbol. The blade looks more euro than Sudanese to me, with that quality, and yes, it looks very nice.

Actually Rick, in the case of my saber, no ringing at all! When I tap it slightly on the wall, I hear no sound at all, almost like a plastic toy sword :( Guess my piece has a very low quality blade....
