It cleaned up quite well though was carefull not to over clean it , i never thought that it may of been recarved and now seems very possible as you have said , i have found a picture...

Well the kris finally turned up , ive given it a light clean and tried etching the blade with vinegar but hasnt shown a twist core ,
But still very happy with it , ...

Ive had a few moro kris and thought the archaic style might mean its an older blade ,

im a bit wary when it comes to cleaning blades like this ,i dont want to over do it and make it look too new

Moro Kris new purchase

This is a very recent purchase and hasnt arrived yet,
Im thinking of etching the blade to see if it might has a twist core !
ive seen a few threads on etching , so may give it a go with lemon juice...

Results after cleaning

Well thanks for all you advice,
I have cleaned the scabbard,and used olive oil for the wood,
Then i have sanded the blade with a fine grit wet and dry paper , it's took quite alot of work to get it...

Well I've given it a good clean , the silver came up well and the scabbard, but the blade needs more work than I thought , I havnt etched the blade yet because i think it needs to be cleaner to see...
