African knife / WW2 souvenir?

got this knife recently.
Story is it was brought home by a German soldier from Northern Africa.
Any chance this is likely?

My research leads me to the conclusion that it may be a seal made from Carnelian.

second new blade that came in.
Also very simple in design but robust.
Sheath is magnetic, made from sheet metal and soldered.
Maybe a slight hew of an ornament (dotted star) on the horn...
