JAMBIYA dagger with scabbard
Hi,
here's the other dagger from the same collection.
Hilt is silver inlaid rhino!
Decoration on scabbard silver and I believe goldwire.
Only did a slight cleaning on the wire to see if it was...

Hi Tim,
I asked around and I was told by J.Elsen "Fulbe,Peul" not 100% sure.
The one on Mambele is marked "Ful/Mandingo" I added a pic from Mambele website....
I would say for sure in that region.

handle is probably a Tetela one who also have multiple-dot decoration on other types of their axes and on their spears.
Blade however is not right in my opinion,wrong angle,shape and not...

Hi to you all,
on offer an old executionsword LOBALA from Congo.
Dated before WW2.
Good deep patination on the hilt.
Blade needs a good cleaning and is now in untouched condition.
Lenght 60 cm...

There're about 20 different shapes,starting with the one you bought,then the same in red copper,then one with a 1,5 cm flat...
