Hi guys,

I did find this keris today.

So far i can see the hilt is cirebon :) But i would apreciate youre help
on the rest , is it totaly cirebon and what do u think of it ?

It has a singa. So far i can see it looks old , and the ganja has some kind of
floral motifs .

Thanks in advance ,

Danny

Hi Danny,

sorry, to me it look's like the blade and also the handle are recent worked.

Hard to say from the photos, but the blade might be older with a more recent alteration to add the singo. The carving of the singo and the gonjo is not a very high quality. The hilt may well be recent as well. The sheath looks older and perhaps altered to this shape to repair breaks. The pendok looks nice, maybe silver or silver plate, but it doesn'y look like it belongs on this sheath. To answer your original question it looks to me as if this was pieced together for sale purposes.

hello Danny

I think sajen is right
when I look to the blade and the hulu I would say not old
but good old made

Hi Danny,

Can you make a picture showing how wide the blade is where the head of the singa is ?
I wonder how the blade must have been in the past if they carved/cut this singa recently out of an old blade ?

All together it does seem like a put together keris imho.

Best regards,
Willem
