Nice but pretty standard do you think the carver was having a joke to make it look like the shaft went through the ball and the ball has shrunk over time ?or am i reading to much into it .

Lol! I don't think that is what the carver intended but I really like this one very well made excellent quality.

Very nice indeed. A sophisticated play with form. Two books worth getting and not siily expensive are "The Art of Southeast Africa" and "The Art of Southern Africa" both published by "5 continents".
