Small dagger for I D
5 Attachment(s)
Hi all, I purchased this small dagger a few days ago, but don't know what it is.
Can anyone help? Brian (Iliad) |
I believe it's Tibetan/Nepal/North India. I suspect fairly recently made.

Looks like a Tibetan all days herdmans dagger. And as Rich said, fairly recent made.
Look at this link. http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4917 |

G'day Brian,
I know you'd like to hear me say Spanish but it is from Bhutan in style as discussed in the link provided by Henk. I have attached an image of the few I have. Gav |
Small Dagger
Hi all, thanks heaps for the comments. I am puzzled by the metallic thread (or is it wire) wrapped around the grip of mine. The pics provided by other members don't have this metallic thread, whereas mine does. Is this significant?
Also have a problem with it being of recent origin; if so, then it has had a hard life!! What is "recent" anyway? Thanks guys. Brian |
I don't think the wire is significant.
It is more the way the fittings and scabbard are made. It is done sloppy and has not the quality of the pieces shown by the other members. Recent? I think it is made arround 1990. |

Thanks guys, you are always helpful and encouraging.
