here are a couple of recent yataghans i aquired. first one is quite rough but the stamping is very interesting anyone if possible read it. also the second one has a very interesting peice laminated to the top of the ferrule, very odd, anybody also possible to read the script??

D'you suppose that piece added to the handle was for a more ergonomic grip to suit a larger hand ?

that could be the reason, the sword and grip fits much better in the hand with that peice added. or it could possibly be purely for looks, since i have never ever seen another yataghan like that.
