hi..just want to share photos of this strange keris dapur.
 |
Thanks for sharing Brekele, I like the dapur very much .
Nice work . |
It's pleasure to share some photos Rick. I heard that keris called keris
lunglungan  . The keris blade is old but lunglungan carved on sor-sor an area is not sure if it is old made. It can be added later on. |
Brekele,
I think it is a keris bethok. And I think like you said the lunglunan is a later addition. Certainly a nice keris. |
Would love to see sharper photos of this keris. :)
It looks like a fairly modern revisioning to me. I very often don't like revisioned keris, but this one has a very interesting and whimsical flow to it. The revisioning of the old wrongko is interesting too. Again, nomally i would think the metal and gem work too out of place, not traditional work at all. But it really seems to fit with the work done on the blade. I don't know if i like it more than i might have the untouched blade because i don't have before pictures to compare, but i do think the piece has some appeal. :) |
Yes David, I agree totally:- a very whimsical piece.
