ANOTHER SWORD FOR IDENTIFICATION PLEASE
10 Attachment(s)
Once again I need some help please, on identification of this sword.
O/A 42" with a 33" blade. Blade is not sharpened on the edges but does have a good point. As can be seen, the brass hilt is heavily embossed on one side of the grip only, with Fleur de Lis, a Harp and a Rose. The quillons appear to be either a bull or a dog. The brass appears to have some age to it. Could be an ornamental item or a replica of some sort, but I would appreciate your thoughts. Regards Stuart |
My guess: society sword from France 19th century

My guess is Knights Templar from France.
at the risk of beginning another occult oriented thread, http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b..._DoNotWant.jpg I suggest that the symbol in the middle of the hilt, just above the blade is the Rosy Cross as shown in the very center of the cross in the next picture. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...rsh/lgrose.jpg And also, http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...rossMedium.gif |
