Possible Katipunan Dagger Or Short Sword

I've been watching item http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...romZR40QQfviZ1 for quite some time now and decided to make an offer which was accepted. It might have been too much to pay for an item like this but I believe it could very likely be Katipunan and will leave that for you the reader to decide. I'm not sure if this would be a considered short sword or a dagger. The guard is obviously missing but not that much of a problem as it is easily replaced. I believe this to be a great example of a Spanish influenced Philippine weapon of the late 19th century. I do not believe that it was ever cut down from a larger blade as the seller states though. I just wish it had the original sheath. Comments would be very welcome on this item.
