A very nice pair of rentcong ( rentjoeng) with hulu puntung, thanks for sharing them. You can find similar ones in Von Zonnevelds's book on pagge 114 with close ups of the hulu on page 14.

Nothing like a nice rentjong (besides nice mandaus etc. etc :D )

The suasa/copper combination is almost the same as one in my collection.

Dajak 26th June 2007 04:52 PM

very nice one look at the sikim is also the same these are from the same collection

mine is copper I think but could also be soeasa

I like Atjeh too but did buy also an nias shield celebes shield with hair and 2 Asmat shields this month.

Hello Ben, wonderful collection!!! Ben, are scabbards missing of all your sikin, or you preferr to hang them without scabbard?
Thanks

Dajak 26th June 2007 08:10 PM

Hi flavio I like to hang them mostly without scabbards but only 2 have scabbards
they mostly broken

Ben

Thank you Ben, it's true that the sikin scabbard are made of very light wood (at least the only one that I have :o ) and so it's normal that in most of the case tey are long time gone :)

RhysMichael 26th June 2007 08:34 PM

A wonderful display. I need to find out where you shop

Battara 26th June 2007 10:58 PM

Me too - especially for rencongs.... :o

asomotif 27th June 2007 04:17 PM

Ben,

Definately looks like a collar of copper with above it suasa.
Indeed very nice that the sikim is the same.

best regards,
Willem
