	Thanks for the pictuers of this sword from the Malay royal collection. There are similarities between teh Thai sword and this one. Are you suggesting that it may have been a gift from Thailand to the Malay royalty, or do you think the Malay and Thai swords might have a common (Japanese) influence? If you think there is a common Japanese influence, are there other example of Japanese style swords in the Malay royal collection, or among Malay weapons in general? Regards, Ian.  | 
		
 the other explanation is that a japanese delegation might have visited both country bearing a gift of swords. or maybe both employed a japanese smithy to forged the swords. may i ask the period on which the sword came to being?
