Hi!

I've bought that pair recently.

Is that really rhino hide? It doesn't look so to me. They seem to me touristy I can't help.

What do you think?

Looks like elephant to me. Rhino I believe will let a little light through and I think it has a reddish tint when it does. Looks a little touristy, but still could be elephant.

Hello Valjhun!
I have some shields which are rhino and as far I know all rhino should be transparent, easy to judge just hold it near strong light.

The leather looks rather thin to me to be elephant. I would have thought it would be a lot thicker at least the same as hippo or rhino? Tourist? why ?

Well, the eternal quest: Have they been made as combat pieces for warriors or just as souvenirs for thoose who travel for pleasure....

I thik for thoose who travel for pleasure.

Any other opinions?

BTW, the are not transclucent so I would guess that they are made from elephant skin.
