New book, Last Mughal, Indian mutiny

In a UK newspaper book review today, some might find this sort of thing a little interesting. It seems to me a very good price. I suppose that can depend on how well it is illustrated.

Hi Tim,
I agree, this looks like a fascinating title. The Indian Mutiny was probably the most significant event that took place on that subcontinent, and in many cases presents a benchmark concerning Indian weapons. The attribution to 'premutiny' is often stated in descriptions.
Mr. Moorhouse is an outstanding author on The British Raj in India, and I have two of his earlier titles, "India Brittanica" (1983) and "To the Frontier" (1984). The second title is excellent in discussing the famed 'Northwest Frontier' of India, extremely pertinant in understanding the geopolitical turmoil of those regions, including Afghanistan, which persists to this day.

Within titles such as these are so many key clues and historical references which help us in understanding the development of many Indian weapon forms and how they diffused through the subcontinent. It is also easy to see how so many of them found thier way to England as trophies and souveniers.

Best regards,
Jim
