Sanduko

ever heard of that type of sword? here's a hint: it's exclusive in panay. i will post pics once i get home, including some tribe people called mondos.

Yes, in fact it seems to also be called tenegre by other folks. You're right, Panay. Has that deity pommel and hilt.

Sanduko bolo ...

is a term used by Bernard Levine in his book to describe the deity-hilted bolos from Panay. Look forward to hearing about the Mondos.

One nice thing about an extended absence is that it's evident how far you gentlemen have advanced "common" knowledge in these areas.
I don't think I've ever used a search feature so much in my life and am starting a personal pocket dictionary of compilations just to keep up!
That's 27 and I'll be looking forward to the photographs.
Speaking of which, you have no idea how appreciative I am that you've returned to being able to post photos..... I got so tired of page after page of X'd out boxes.
Thank you, one and all.

Mondos aka Mundos

So, Spunger, were you west of Tapaz in Capiz? That's where the Mundos are. I'll be in Panay in May...look forward to your scouting report. I already have plans to have a bolo made in Balete...might even help make it :D .
