Borneo sword for I.D
6 Attachment(s)
This is the first sword I have bought in a while as prices seem to be very high these days ( unless you are selling:D )
Is this a Langgai Tinggang ? If not, then what ? It is large at 57cm long and weighs 0.8kg. It is a bit crude but I think too good to be tourist. The face on the antler hilt is an added bonus. Thanks in advance Roy |
Hello Roy,
Can't help with an exact answer but see here: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=Borneo Maybe it's of some help for you. Regards, Detlef |
Hi,
The blade doesn't look bad, but hilt and scabbard are very touristic for me... |
It looks like mandau sword of dayaks, head hunter sword.
There are "real deal" ones and "touristic" ones. |

Comparison.

For all the metalwork on the blade, it doesn't seem to approach the quality that I've seen on Borneo jimpuls. I wouldn't discount the possibility of the blade being made for use - hard to judge from a small photo - but the dress is not encouraging.
