Im no expert , but first glance i thought maybe indian axe but now im wondering could it be sudanese ?
bronze/brass axe head with leather bound shaft and silver decoration ,
any info would be appreciated

I think you are right Sudan. What makes me think so is not just the blade but the middle white metal/silver piece. The same form of decoration is frequently seen on Kaskara hilts.
