MAybe from the Balkans of 18th century?

Where do you think it is from? The pommel and the crossguard are highly unusual.

Some early ottoman swords are straight bladed. Some examples like the ones shown here, have similar dragon head crossguard. THe sword posted follows this tradition. However the end of its hilt reminds arabic swords. Also i have seen some straight shaped swords in the balkans, i think Bosnia at the 18th century.

Yasou Eftihis,
This is a Serbian type we rarely see. And you're right, it does derive from the form you show in your post. There were a few of these in more elaborate mounts in the Askeri Muzesi when I was there in 2019. From your photos, I would place it in the latter 18th-19th century. Oliver |
