Comments on Keris blade

I would appreciate comments about this keris blade. To my untrained eye, it seems to be a very good quality blade. I would love to hear what those with a trained eye might see in this blade. Thanks.

Hi, can we see a picture of the whole blade please. Looks S Sumatran, Bugis or Bugis-influenced construction.
|
Unfortunately, I am away for a bit and cannot take a full length shot of the blade. I do believe it is a Bugis blade but was hoping the pictures provided would provide enough detail to comment about the forging and other characteristics of the blade.

This keris has the exact same perabots as one of Dave's Bugis keris. Dave's keris is supposedly from the island of Sumbawa. Its a good robust blade, with few layers in the pamor, as often seen in Bugis blades, like yours.
And for those interested in seeing this keris of Dave's, go to to Rangsang Rias Pusaka Bangsa II at the Istana Kampong Glam this weekend. Its in the competition. Not difficult to spot. Its the giant one. :) |
