GOPA SIBO

Hi all,
from my father's collection, a gopa sibo. This piece was acquired in General Santos City in the early 90s (from an antique shop). The shopkeeper informed my father that this lovely piece is from the Tagakaolo tribe. The gopa sibo is a traditional blade used for wood carving (boat building). OAL: 18 inches with a 10.5-inch blade. Enjoy, Yves |
What an interesting piece!
How old is this type? |
