Eastern priming flask
3 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
A friend asked me to post this on their behalf for the forum's insight. Priming flask made entirely of solid silver in the classic Persian shape. The question is origin. Persian, Central Asian, Afghan? Perhaps an idiosyncratic Sindi example or from North India. Any ideas? Regards LL |

What a beautiful Persian style powder flask. And made of solid silver no less.
The decoration does seem just a bit on the cruder side, But still wonderful. I would think Afghan would be as good a guess as any. Difficult to tell with this one. This "style" of flask seemed popular throughout much of the Ottoman Empire. You see variations made of brass, iron, horn, - and silver. Again, nice piece for a collection. Rick |
it's far too nice to be Afghan.
it's Persian or at least Central Asian... |
