Hello Andi,

Thanks for your efforts!

I'd like to post some of my badik, too. (Need to take decent pics though...)

Looks like molten gold did got poured on the blade (probably a quicksilver alloy with high proportion of gold?). I never saw this with early-collected examples from European musea or old collections though - any idea how old this tradition might be?

previously I apologize, it honestly was yellow iron, not brass or gold, in bugis we have a lot of material that is not alleged that exist on the bar heirloom us, because the process of making steel earlier times are still very traditional so it makes some other elements besides iron was still in it thus appears in prestige, or iron bars, usually we call it buleng puleng and Batulappa, recorded in lontara iron bugis manuscript as one guideline good or bad an heirloom.
in our records and the results of research to find a place smelting and the manufacture of the oldest heritage located around Lake Matano Luwu is now the nickel mining center is about 6-7 century AD,
