could you give me the origin of the knife.
the blade has a flat side and the other side in a triangle .. the handle is horn. the whole is unfortunately varnish ... the blade measures 29cm, 40cm the knife. , |
blade looks like a re-purposed small sword section, or a socket bayonet? what you do with a broken weapon you would rather not throw away. makes a nice dagger. spanish colonial maybe? (that covers a large section of the world)

The screw fitting looks very 20th century, so I am going with it being a WW1 Trench Dagger or similar.

thought of that too, screws were used late 19c too, but couldn't think of a blade that shape to fit unless the unit armourer had a nearby stock of old musket bayonets. spanish-american war maybe? cuba/filipino?
reminds me of this spanish phillipines one, especially the brass guard. |
[edited and it did some weird double post of the original and the edit...so editing this].

I would think the blade is from a Rondel.
