Great swords - thanks!

Hello,
Thank you very much for presenting these beauties. I afraid the dirt is rust from the blades. How blind must one be, to ignore such a deterioration? Roland |
Beautiful workmanship on some of these!
Thank you for the photos. Many appear to have come from the South of India, do you not agree? |
Yes the show of weapons is really fascinating - thanks for showing the pictures.
Richard, the interesting thing is - how many of the weapons came from Deccan? It is known that they in the north, had great artists doing this kind of iron work, but it is also known that Anup Singh after the fall of Adoni send a lot of weapons to Bikaner. To this comes that he had, for years, campaigned in Deccan, so many of the weapons sent home could have come from other places than from Adoni. We will need an expert on Deccani weapons to go to Bikaner, to have a look at the weapons to tell us what is what. |

Yes the steel work is fantastic, and we do know that at least some of the weapons come from Deccan or from south India - but does all of them come from there??
Someone once wrote, that they in the north, only started to use gold and silver for decoration rather late, as they had the steel work. Was it Goetz??? |
