I need your knowledge to identify this spear point
What worries me for whatever African is the diameter of the sleeve of this spear point and the end of the tip of the spear she ends this reinforced tip the diameter is 2, 5cm, total length is 75cm, blade has a central Ridge |

This is from north Nigeria, spearhead point was modified additionaly.

Yes Adamawa region or into North Cameroon as well.
The spear point I think is a slightly modification done to assist in armour piercing. |

I was fortunate enough to acquire this lance from our fellow forumite. He has shown the details pretty well I think but I took a few images to show the real scale of how big this lance is!
I'm also including a scan from a book which sites one of these collected in Ilorin but notes the type also is found in Bornu. Added to one of the same pattern I already own (shown in on of the comparison photos) field collected in Cameroon, we can say this was a widespread pattern. |
Yes I have a lance in my own collection with a very similar decorated blade which I haven taken to be from Bornu . There is a in Liverpool museum an excellent display of a mounted Bornu warrior equiped with a similar lance, the horse & rider having full quilted armour.
