Translation for Turkish Jade Kard/Bichaq Needed
 

Greetings folks!

I acquired a very nice Ottoman kard/bichaq. The scabbard is silver with a brass throat.

The blade is higher contrast wootz with gold koftgari inscription.

Regarding the hilt, it is dark green jade with a ruby stone in the end. Also the bolster appears to be cast gilt brass.

What I need is a translation of the inscription. I think it is a Quranic verse with the word "Allah" in it, but that is a guess. What is this truly saying?

The Qur'anic verse reads as follows:

نصر من الله و فتح قريب و بشر المؤمنين

Translation:

"Victory from ALLAH and a conquest in the near future, and give glad tidings to the believers."

This is the final part of the 13th verse of Surat al-Saff in the Qur'an.

The "conquest in the near future" was the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s conquest of Makkah (Mecca) in the year 8 A.H. (630 C.E.).
