Indo Persian Pata questions
I have found an Indo persian Pata and I am very intrigued by this weapon.
All of the information that I find on these says "Rare" Is this just a sales ploy? Are they truly a rare weapon? What would I look for to be sure it is not a reproduction? I will post pictures later this afternoon but I would appreciate any input that you folks have on these. Thanks Edited |
Alan , monetary values are not discussed here , nor are appraisals given .
Have you read the posting rules at the top of the page yet ? If someone wants to PM you about this piece that is fine . A forum search using the word pata will most likely be productive as this has been discussed in the forum before . Forum search is a great resource . :) |
Thanks Rick
I apologize.I will edit my original post for info on the sword only and I will also do a search. |
Hi Alan:
On this Forum we try not to talk about what items may be worth and the prices of items for sale, whether by auction or private sale. If you read the sticky at the top of the Ethnographic Weapons page, it mentions something about this. Such discussions should be taken to PM or email rather than the open Forum. That said, pata (pattah) are not very common. Certainly less common than more simple versions of the katar. A picture would be helpful so that we might have the example itself to discuss. Ian. Edit: Sorry, Alan. I see Rick already posted a note. Ian. |
Ian thanks
