I have just found an other image of the Mönchsbüchse showing ist from an other side. It really seems to me that this is definitively younger than 15th century as stated by the museum.

The description on the image says:

Deutsch, E. 15. Jh.

The "E" could probably mean Ende: end of 15th century which suites to Spiridonovs suggestion.

Since the description on the label is in german language it is assumable that the meaning is "Ende" (end) 15th century.
