African spear, the iron bits only alas.
 

While trawling through an "Antique Fair" some time ago, same one I got my good Khumiah at, I bought these peices from a pile of similar. My original thought was "Masai" but after seeing some of the stuff posted here I am not so sure. So, I am looking for comment and advice here, or confirmation of my first impression. Thanks everyone in advance for your help.

Salaams David R ~ I get the impression that these are for the tourist market or I think mine are.. It is not my area of speciality and at first glance they look ok... I mean if you get one thrown in your direction its still a spear !! :) Anyway I have a few on the wall somewhere ...I think they are longer than your examples as mine have a piece of wood a couple of feet long between the two iron parts.
Oh and one of the spearpoint covers..

As Colin has posted, with the addition of a number of Masai groups. Many modern spears are made by a group of blacksmiths that supply both the Samburu and the Masai, therefore the only attribution for the supplied spear is whether it was used by a Masai or Samburu :rolleyes: :)
