"Peoples of all Nations" magazine photos

I recently found some copies of "Peoples of all Nations" magazines, dating from the early 1930s.
They have some interesting photos, although the reproduction quality is not so great. I am posting images of some which incorporate tribal weapons and forumites might like.... |
THANKS FOR POSTING THESE I ALWAYS ENJOY SUCH OLD PICTURES AND THE CAPTIONS ARE A PLUS.

Super Colin - thanks for taking the time to post these images. Old pictures like this are so useful.

A great share, thank you.
The Bhutan photo is one from 1905 and appears to be photoshopped for publication...how on earth they photoshopped back then is beyond me though as the photo lacks the upper original background. The photo is of Ugyen Wangchuck at the time of the photo he was the first "future" King of Bhutan. Also pictured is his confidant Ugyen Dorje to his left and the others being his body guards. Of note are the Mughal shields and many wore Mughal chainmail too. A great thread. Gav |
I hope you won't mind a minor correction.
It is Sir Ugyen Wangchuk; he was made Knight Commander of the Indian Empire in 1904. Regards Richard |
