Wow.
This one just ended on Ebay for $335. I have a few nice Gunong, but never dreamed one would sell for this. Your thoughts?

If the blade is hand forged .....
A very nice piece of wood for the handle .

Don't believe I've ever seen that many Luk on a Gunong before ..

Funny, i was just about to post on this one. I was watching it and a bit surprised when it went this high.
I think it's hand-forged, but it looks like it was rather aggressively polished. The wood is nice, but nothing unusual. The fittings are pretty common. The amount of luks is unusual, but given the dress i'm not convinced it's enough to warrant such a high price. I bought a nice, old silver-fitted one just a couple of years ago for less than a third of this price.

Thanks guys. I was wondering if I was missing something. I've a couple with 9 luks (if I'm counting correctly)

Yeah, but I like yours better. Has more grace in luks. You could say that it sure "luks" better. :D

Rick 24th August 2010 03:52 AM

Oy ! :D

David 24th August 2010 12:42 PM

Ah , yes, if luks could kill....oh wait, they can! :D

I wonder if this piece is an indication of things to come, like the market for Moro going up again....

And as for what you said David - :D
