I got this photo from a friend, it is a part out of an old calender from Jugoslavia, 1956. Courtesy of the owner, Mr. Heddi Orr.

Great picture, especially as the costume and weapons are attributed to Rugava in Kosovo.

Too bad we cannot see much detail from the yataghan hilt, as it would have helped with the so far impossible task of determining yataghan types on a geographical basis.

What I find interesting is the scabbard looks like it is from a parang and not a yataghan?

the sheath throat is interesting though I think I seen this on yataghan sheaths before; regionally diagnostic?
What is the belt running down the man's right shoulder? Any thoughts? Answers?
