From the Golden Triangle, and here for sale a true Ethnic item. Nicely housed in its original teak?? case and with what appears to be an old ivory bar, graduated in the Chinese way. Original brass counterweight, and overall in good condition. The length of the case is 13 1/4" (335mm).

I apologise for not pointng out that the "scale" effect in the centre of the pan is in fact a VERY old repair. The overall patina of the whole pan is the same, so the scales have had a LOT of use since the repair. Those of you in "the know" will be aware that these are opium scales. Not mentioned before as I was not sure if the Forum allowed the reference.
