These photo's where requested by some members. They are all the sellers. I will be taking some of my own, but the blade needs to be cleaned of a coating of something. It's on my todo list which grows daily. So it may be some time before I add to this archive.

I'll see what I can do. It's currently covered in either cosmoline or old varnish and looks really ratty. When I have the chance I've been going over it with acetone to clean it up. These are the sellers photos and show off it's good parts, the bad and ugly(apology to Clint Eastwood) parts where missing from the shots.

Very recently a kris slipped into my collection with also a very ugly blade to look at. There was some kind of brown varnish on the blade. But after some cleaning, and a very light etch, a beautiful blade came forward.
It is not such nice blade as yours turn out to be after cleaning, no doubt about that, but I was very surprised and like the result!
I attached some images before and after cleaning!

Nice job on the clean up. The sword looks like it deserved to be cleaned up.

Yep, lucky for you it was shellacked or varnished . :)
Looks great .

Battara 16th April 2010 01:00 AM

So far looks Sulu. Show us the rest of it please.... :)

Maurice 16th April 2010 03:07 PM

Thanks Rick, yes I like the result also.
Jose, I will start another thread, because I don't want to get mixed up in this thread according this beautifull old sundang!

Mross, when you find any time in cleaning the blade, I would like to see additional pics of the piece.
