Hi,
Got this at my local auction this morning. Being a "club virgin" I am completely in the dark regarding the where, when and who of this piece so all help appreciated. It weighs 2lb 2oz, shaft length 23 1/2 inches, bulbous end 4 1/2 inches across and 3 3/4 inches from top to bottom. Lovely and tactile, can begin to understand the fascination of these weapons. Many thanks in advance for all and any replies.
Regards,
Norman.

P.S. Will post better photographs shortly.

Hi,
Some better pictures. Visible on the shaft there are some patches where the wood is slightly darker, these patches also have marks in a regular pattern. Would I be correct in thinking that this is where a woven wire decoration would have been?
Regards,
Norman.

The scratch marks are where the wire would have been ,nae luck .

Hi Norman

It's a nice one.

I agree with you about them being tactile - in a cerebral sort of way !!

That's what I thought, pity.
