Looks PI to me, Southern Luzon, perhaps turn of the century.

A spear and the shield are from Northern Luzon (Cordillera). Not sure exactly which people as the pics do not provide enough detail. Can you post close-up pics of the spears and shield?

Hello, I post other pictures of the shield and the spears.
The length of the shield is 54,8' X 12' (to the center) The length of the spears is 64' and 65' It isn't it A Banawi shield? And the sword isn't it a form of Katipunan bolo? The only information what i have is this items arrived in europe around 1900 |
I do believe that the bolo is Katipunan period to the period of the first republic.

Hello Eric,
Very nice bolo and with the original scabbard!! Could you tell me what the grip fittings are made of? I too would like to know what this type of bolo is called. It looks like it was made more for stabbing and slashing more than for chopping and hacking. I wonder if tusuk would be the right term for this style of bolo? A very nice score. Robert P.S. Another possible term for this could be Matulis. |
