Bicol?

This seems to be an odd one. The hilt is clearly the same deity/monster/animal attributed as Bicol elsewhere on this forum, however it has a chisel grind and a scabbard design that is reminiscent of Visayan talibon/garab (I have attached a photo for comparison). The blade spine has an extraordinary taper from 6mm at base to 3mm 3/4 of the way to the tip and 1mm at tip. The ferule, bronze I believe, is also somewhat unusual in design. With Bicol region next to Visayas, I understand there is a lot of blending of styles, however the figure seems classic Bicol. Thoughts?

Hullo Jeff, nice blade! It's Bicol-made. They call that one "baid" or "machete."

Yes, that's a Bicolano hilt. "Inayam" (dog-like) is the term they use for it, I think.

Just for clarity, Bicol is "next" to the Visayas, so some influence would make sense.
