Kanak, as in from New Caledonia?

Tim Simmons 27th July 2013 07:08 PM

Yes I should have made that a little more clear. In the early colonial period of Melanesian Islands "Kanak" was a very general term. In some ways rather like the "N" word in times past when referring to people of African origin, but today "Kanak" refers specifically to the original natives of New Caledonia.
