I rather like it. The Gothic style brass hilts were coming into their own at this period if I'm not mistaken. It's when many of those so-called Satanist French occult daggers started to pop up as well. For me, it all goes back to the type of blade the hilt is mounted to, though. Yours has an excellent early style blade. A short hanger blade would likewise look good, but if this type hilt were mounted on a small sword, not so much...
