antique bronze spear head -sword

Hello everybody,

I got this long spear head,
maybe a short sword because it's pretty big:
57cm / 22,5 inches long overall ,
45 cm / 17,7 inches only for the blade.

Not my area but I loved the patina,
I wonder if it comes from Luristan, China, Greece
or .... just a copy ? ;)

Kind Regards

Probably Luristan with the tang bent back upon itself. Nice and encouraging patina.

Hello Lee,
Thank you !!

Do you / does everybody know if these items are really still common to find today ?

I'm surprised to see in auctions houses the small price is asked for this kind of antique item ( bronze axe head , spears... )
sometimes just 100-200 $ for a nice piece of history !!

Maybe no many people collect it ?
weird ! sad !

tanged blades like this were used in spears with the tang inserted into a hole in the shaft end, secured by part of the end diverted out the side and peened over. I suspect with a reinforcing bolster at the end of the haft and at the peened part, possibly all one piece. probably not for a sword.
