17th Century Katar With European Blade

Picked this up last month. A nice old and in fairly shape katar from the south of India. The blade must have been cut down from the forward third of a European blade you can see the fuller on it. There are still some traces of gold koftgari still present.

Hi Lew,
Nice katar congratulations :).
Are the side guards decorated?

Hi Jens

Only a trace was left on the side bar :(. The beads do spin though. :)

A beautiful piece indeed, I'm envious!

Hi Lew,
Try some WD40, that may help.
Interesting that the side guards are profiled.
