This helmet come from the same collection than the Gioco del ponte just post before.
The skull is made from one piece ,it has a single piece visor and articulated neck lames.
Any comments on it are welcome.

It could just be my imagination and, to aggravate, hard to capture in pictures but ... could this be a smith's mark ? :o .

It was visible to connoisseurs that the visor of this helmet is a (much) later replacement. But skipping over such 'minor' detail, the worse was that the dimension and angle of its vision slits was hardly plausible, unless it was commissioned for a young knight suffering of strabismus.
An hour with a local skilled smith and the visor gained its regular ... vision. Well, it didn't gain any real age with such surgery but, at least, you can engage in a joust with it and see your foe  .

Hey...wait a minute! That's not a knight but a maiden! :D
The smith did an amazing job with altering the existing visor back to it's proper form.

Are you back from your trip, Fernando? Hope you saw some great places here in the U.S.

You are outdated Captain ...
Nowadays high end smiths provide a model to check on the work progression ;) .
Indeed this is my niece's young daughter; i wanted to put on the helmet myself but my ears got on the way. Either i am a big headed dude or its owner had not such a large skull.

Not yet back from America; that is only due by late September  .
