Aceh sword with a varient of the Hulu Meu Apet

On a major auction house site I found this peudeueng peusangan with a hulu meu apet. But the hulu meu apet has some interesting differences. It still fits with the Gulabghati connection. The auction house has it listed as an indian sword and this is a common error. Unfortunately there is no way I can bid on it right now. I look forward to comments and thoughts.

Sure looks strange?
Could it be a later repair if the original "spike" broke off?
Looks like it is made of bone or some other non-original material.

I don't know. There is only this one picture on the site. So that is a posibility.
Some sources say the spike represents a bamboo sprout.

Now and then you see Indonesian weapons with broken hilts that has been fixed.
It's not that uncommon among Keris hilts like f.i. the one in the link below as well as several in Kerner's A4 sized "Collection book".
And of course the fragile L-shaped Rencong hilts.

The handle looks like horn or some dark wood wrapped with wire.

Interesting , but who can really tell much from a 12kb picture ?

Maybe you could request for better photos? Especially a closer shot of the hilt. ;)
