IMO the quality of carving in this new sumatran (?) WOOD hit is very very good.
From surface to core there are two level of very detailed carving. :eek:

Dear forum ,

i also have this kind of carving hilt ,made of wood.
i obtain it from central lombok carver,but unfortunately i only have three pic's.
to David : yes ..this hilt is new

I found mine near Yogya.
Please, can you help me to know the name of wood used by the artist?

Is the "Solo Ganesh with silver inserts" hit made by the same carver?
(The hit is just behind the two pics where there is the Sulawesi hit)
