Good morning dear members,
Here a kindjal dagger I just received.
Seems not bad but it is maybe recent work.
I wonder if it is really a good one and where it can come from and his age...

The blade has a really strong and long tip
I dont know where it can come from
( Caucasus ?...)

I saw no stamp/signature but it must ne silver or silver alloy

Kind regards

I could be wrong, but Turkish tourist piece is my thought.

Hello,
Here other pictures,
Hope it can help,
Maybe the scabbard was too strongly cleaned,
It clearly looks too "shiny"

Seems a good one...:)

There is not always a silver stamp or maker's mark
as this similar caucasian kindjal from Czerny's. $$

If you want to be sure, you can test it with a silver acid kit or go to a jeweller...

PS: maybe an etching of the blade could reveal something ( cf fullers...)

There is nothing wrong with this Kindjal. All parts are typical for Dagestan, probably made in the early 20th century. Nice piece.

Regards
Robin
