I should really appreciate opinions about this Koummya....

In these corona times, stay safe and luckily you can not get the virus through your computer....

Best,
Stefan

Nice koummaya Stefan, it looks like an older example from the first half of the 20th century, based on the quality of the silver work. The blade looks well made as well,

I agree and add the obvious - Morocco.

The metal appears to me to be an 90% silver content.

Hello Stefan,

Nice koummya! Can you confirm that it is silver?

Hello Stefan,

I have some doubts about the metal of the fittings and scabbard.

My guess is that it is a later 20th century Koummiya with pewter fittings.

In most cases, quality early 20th century Moroccan silverwork was marked with the head of a ram or the head of a bull.

How thick is the blade?

Anyhow, it appears to be good quality work, not the touristy crap you can find these days.

You may find the link below quite interesting:

Hi

The blade is too good for an early 20th c koummiya, i think yours is from 1950 1970ties but top quality!
